Position summary:
•  The Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) manager will be responsible for partnering with all business groups and regions in the ongoing development and oversight of environmental, social and corporate governance policies and procedures.

 

Key responsibilities:
•  Identify, advise on, and implement new ESG reporting and disclosure practices, based on a deep understanding of requirements from regulators, sustainability leaders and investors/lenders.
•  Participate in the preparation of external annual ESG reports and responses to ESG information requests from external stakeholders such as customers, rating agencies, investors/raters/rankers, among others.
•  Provide technical expertise on key issues related to environmental and social impact assessment and on sustainability risks in the design, preparation, implementation and supervision of operations taking into consideration best industry practices and standards.
•  Collect, manage, and analyze ESG data, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, from global Operations sites and company-wide departments to enable internal and external reporting, determine trends, and develop objectives and targets for various levels of the business.
•  Manage and provide guidance on implementing the Bausch + Lomb Company Policy 32 – Sustainable Business throughout the company.
•  Support the EHS+S Global Vice President and Directors to initiate, develop and direct global sustainability programs, including policy, procedures, performance measurement and evaluation.
•  Lead and/or support implementation of projects aimed at improving sustainability impacts, reporting and disclosure.
•  Establish methods to demonstrate the relationship and value of sustainability performance to Operation’s business results. (i.e., Fuel, Energy, Water and Waste – FEWW)
•  Assess current and emerging global ESG issues, company performance and assist with developing appropriate strategies and programs to maintain or enhance company ESG performance while minimizing ESG impacts.
•  Participate in global EHS+S auditing programs to minimize risks, ensure sound management systems across all business units and levels, and ensure compliance with company and applicable governmental requirements.
•  Monitor horizon global developments.  Advise business units of regulatory impacts on business operations and assist in developing strategies to achieve compliance.  This includes regulations coming from the European Union’s Green Deal, global Extended Producer Responsibility regulations and global Carbon Disclosure requirements.
•  Oversee the preparation of responses to inquiries from customer, relevant ESG rating agencies and other organizations, such as CDP and Ecovadis. Manage multiple and complex internal and external ESG information requests ensuring quality of deliverables in line with company standards, positions and ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.

 

Qualifications and experience:
• BS degree in Environmental or Sustainability Management or related field; MS degree preferred.  Minimum of 10 years of broad-based sustainability / ESG experience, with at least 7 years of management experience.
• Must have experience in managing sustainability / ESG at the business unit or corporate level for multiple locations.  International experience required.  Knowledge of U.S. level environmental and sustainability regulations required and ability to interpret international regulations.
•  Outstanding verbal, presentation, written communication, and teamwork skills are required.
•  At least 3 years of experience conducting assurance of sustainability/ESG/financial reports with audit firms or similar organization and/or supporting companies to improve ESG reporting internal control environments.
•  Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work with senior stakeholders and leaders, build rapport across functional boundaries as well as people of diverse backgrounds.

As required by New York State’s pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State.  Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.  For New York State, the range of starting annual base pay for this role is $103,000 – $158,000.
