Your role and work environment:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Graduate to join our Sustainable Finance Spain & Portugal team of Wholesale Banking. The Sustainable Finance team ING is growing and provides sustainable financing solutions to clients through its regional hubs in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Frankfurt, Paris, New York and Singapore. To drive the business further in Spain and Portugal, both for existing and potential clients within this region, we seek to extend our team by attracting a new member to work jointly with the Sustainable Finance Iberia team, based in Madrid.
Your key responsibilities:
As a Graduate you will be involved in transactions which have a large impact on our clients. You work closely together with team members in Madrid and other locations, and with various product specialists across ING. Your main tasks consist of:
§ Contribute to the execution of the EMEA sustainable finance strategy into the local market and as such will craft marketing & origination plans, identify growth opportunities and groundbreaking
sustainable structures for the various product groups
§ Work with the Sustainability Champions network within Wholesale Banking to execute the regional strategy in Iberia;
§ Drive innovations in new sustainable finance products and structures, which will provide added value to clients and drive the sustainable business with our clients.
§ Work together with all front office teams to originate & execute sustainable transactions; through (a) drafting marketing materials including pitch books and presentations, (b) detailed analysis of targets, and (c) market research and competitor analysis.
§ Contribute to improve ING’s profile in sustainable business initiatives for employees, clients, peers, and other partners.
Portfolio management activities and monitoring sector information and collection of market data and trends.

The ideal candidate should be an ambitious professional with a Masters’ degree with above-average academic grades and previous experience in banking, financial services and/or strategic consultancy (including internships), preferable related to sustainability related issues.
The candidate should have sound financial analysis and problem-solving capabilities; and excellent speaking and writing skills in Spanish and English is a must. In addition, we expect the candidate to have the following key personal skills: (i) hard worker with ability to drive multiple activities in parallel; (ii) attention to detail and delivery of top-quality documents; (iii) ability to work collaboratively across functions (team player); and (iv) enthusiasm and ambition to learn.
The candidate should show genuine interest in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues and have the ability to earn trust and respect of clients, colleagues and senior management.
