Our client, a leading Retail European company is looking for a post of Sustainability Specialist.
You will join a company committed with sustainability value across the whole value chain and to all its stakeholders. Our engagement with a circular and socially responsible retail industry is certified under the top sustainable standards.
You will work at corporate level in the implementation and coordination of the environmental strategy in the whole portfolio. The Sustainability Specialist will work to maintain sustainability certifications, will assist in the development of technical projects linked to the sustainability strategy, and will assist the company in the corporate reporting and participation in ESG benchmarks.
Area of responsibilities/Activities:
Coordinate the renewal of the BREEAM Certification of our portfolio in Europe, working along with external assessors and creating relevant documentation where needed.
Implement the Net Zero Carbon Strategy and coordinate the decarbonisation plans of each building internally and with external consultants.
Assist in the implementation of the Climate Risks strategy of the company, including the definition and coordination of climate risks plan for each building.
Assist in the implementation and development of technical project linked to the sustainability strategy of the centers, such as the installation of photovoltaic panels, or electric chargers.
Assist in the reporting and improvement of the rating for the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB), collecting information from other company departments and elaborating documentation if needed.
Assist in the implementation of the Zero Waste Certificate across all assets in Europe, including the improvement of procedures in centers and improving of facilities to achieve higher rates of waste sent recycling facilities.
Supervision, control and analysis of the environmental KPIs of the company and for each building.
Responsible for the upkeep, information of QSHE management procedures, assisting the company in maintaining the ISO 9001, 14001, 50001, 45001 certificates, as with the related regulation.Assist in the reporting process of the annual report and the Non-financial Reporting
Qualification profile:
Technical University Degree (engineer, environmental science, architect…)
Desirable master’s degree, bachelor’s degree or postgraduate in Sustainability or a professional qualification related (BREEAM, LEED, PASSIVEHAUS, etc.)
3-5 years of relevant work experience in sustainability, real estate, engineering, preferably in an international environment.
Advanced knowledge of English, and valuable other languages (French, Italian, Polish, Dutch)
