Description and Requirements

The Sustainability Services team aims to define and provide services that help our customers navigate IT sustainability in the realms of Circularity, Climate Change and Energy services.
As the Global Sustainability Services ESG Manager you are an experienced data management professional who will collaborate closely with internal ESG and customer-facing employees throughout Lenovo, taking on a key role in supporting and defining Lenovo tools that help our customers with their sustainability goals such as IT decarbonization. Your responsibilities will span a diverse range, from in-depth sustainability research and data analysis to crafting insightful reports and recommendations and fostering seamless coordination between internal departments and external entities. Operating as a key component in our team, you will contribute on strategy formation & implementation, business analytics & insights & key stakeholder management.
This role is highly strategic, demanding a unique blend of adept analytical and interpersonal skills, focus, adaptability, and self-motivation. A customer-centric mindset is paramount, aligning priorities with customer needs and helping to differentiate our offerings in a competitive landscape.
Specific responsibilities include:
Support and participate in the generation of customer IT decarbonization road mapping efforts.
Act as a SME for carbon calculation for Sustainability Services
Monitor and oversee carbon calculation library, methodology and building new requirements for data sources where gaps exist.
Analyze reporting data for accuracy and alignment with ESG targets and GHG Protocol, SBTi and other relevant accounting and disclosure standards that emerge.
Coordinate operational and compliance efforts associated with carbon offset program.
Identify and evaluate carbon accounting best practices, updated methods, and the latest emission factors from accepted external sources. Drive continuous improvement of existing methodologies and reporting capabilities.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to secure the adoption of consistent standards and approaches to carbon calculations and reporting.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to monitor and align with key sustainability regulation impacting Lenovo products and services.
Support environmental reporting requirements.
Provide support for SSG Sustainability Workshops and other customer sustainability interactions.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferably engineering or science related degree.
Five years of experience in sustainability, environmental, ESG, compliance, life cycle assessment, product carbon footprint, climate change, or a related field
Knowledge of product carbon footprint (PCF) and/or life cycle assessment (LCA) principles and standards as well as an understanding of climate change related requirements including the greenhouse gas reporting protocol and the SBTi Net-Zero standard.
Familiarity with PCF tools
Experience with CDP Climate disclosures is a plus.
Experience performing life cycle assessment studies or product carbon footprint calculations is a plus.
