The Opportunity
We currently have a vacancy for a Sustainability Officer this is an exciting opportunity for you to join our fast-growing, high performing company. In this role you will drive and support our ambitious sustainability programme and lead a wide range of sustainability related projects across our global business. Reporting into the Chief Risk and Sustainability Officer.
ESW are seeking an energetic, knowledgeable, and experienced individual to work across our business to help achieve our vision that enables people and planet to thrive and ensure our business is sustainable. The role will provide guidance, effective challenge, and deliver initiatives intended to maintain and further enhance ESW’s sustainability strategy. This will involve engaging with a broad range of stakeholders including, employees, clients, suppliers, external agencies, and our shareholders.
This role will provide the successful candidate a great opportunity for promoting and championing sustainability practices across ESW.
Key Responsibilities
Progress and maintain the overall sustainability strategy aligned to the overall Group Strategy.
Develop and oversee the implementation of key sustainability projects.
Support and maintain reporting requirements.
Oversee and communicate changes in regulatory and customer requirements within the business.
Support the continued education of employees on sustainability related topics and contribute to developing core sustainability awareness messages.
Work cross functionally to ensure our products and services are aligned and integrated with our business strategy and our long-term targets and objectives.
Act as the point of contact for all key clients.
Chair Sustainability Working Group meetings.
Oversee the operations of the Executive Sustainability SteerCo.
Manage relationships with external agencies.
Develop and manage CSR/fundraising events in collaboration with our chosen charity partners.
Oversee and manage the allocation of our sustainability budget.
Key Experience & Skills
Minimum of 3 years previous experience in Sustainability/ESG.
A degree, or equivalent, in sustainability management preferable.
Familiarity with international sustainable development policy including but not limited to the UN Sustainable Development Goals is desirable.
Confident communicator with the ability to synthesise and communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand way.
Strong planning & organisational skills.
Good project management skills.
Experience within a technology, logistics or ecommerce business preferable.
Familiarity with Science Based Targets initiative is desirable.
