Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sustainability Governance and Reporting Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sustainability governance frameworks, transparency measures, and reporting mechanisms, across the business to ensure GDSI takes a leadership position in the global data centre industry. This includes responsibility for managing the process that leads to the publication of the GDS International (GDSI) Annual Sustainability Report. Sustainability includes Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

Working closely with the sustainability team members, the CEO, Business Unit Managers and internal stakeholders, the role is pivotal to ensuring GDSI continues to be a leader in sustainability, withing the data centre industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainability practices, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop and implement sustainability governance frameworks and policies.
Ensure compliance with relevant sustainability regulations and standards.
Map GDSI’s sustainability data sources with the aim of automating the data gathering, analysis and reporting.
Prepare and manage sustainability reports, including the analysis of sustainability data, annual sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, and other related documentation.
Report and monitor on sustainability performance metrics and KPIs monthly, quarterly, annually and on a year-by-year comparative basis.
Provide support for Quarterly Sustainability Steering Committee meetings.
Stay updated on emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability governance and reporting.
Conduct regular audits and assessments through third parties to ensure adherence to sustainability policies and procedures.
Collaborate and engage with the GDSI CEO, business unit Senior Managers, and internal and external stakeholders.
Provide guidance and support to departments on sustainability governance and reporting requirements.
Communicate the company’s sustainability efforts and progress to stakeholders, including employees, investors, customers, and the community.
Other reasonable duties as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability or a related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, CSR-P, GRI, Green Mark) preferred.

Preferred experience / skills

Minimum of 7 years of experience in an ESG or sustainability role.
Strong understanding of global sustainability frameworks, regulations, standards, and industry practices (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).Ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Strong communication in both written and verbal.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
