Sustainability & ESG Director – Up to £110K – International Design Consultancy!
Our client, a well known multidisciplinary consultancy operating within the built environment, is looking for somebody to join their consultancy as a Sustainability & ESG Director. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate that would be interested in being the first member of this service line and growing it out. This key position entails developing and maintaining sustainability, social responsibility, and governance programs aligned with our clients work . Reporting in to the Board you’ll be responsible for their internal ESG strategy whilst also offering strategies to their clientele, ensuring that practices are eco-friendly, socially responsible, and compliant with ever changing regulations.
You will tackle ESG challenges in the construction and property sector. Work with a wide range of clients, from investors, developers and REITS, developing bespoke ESG strategies, guiding sustainable development, and implementing practices across their projects which include various markets in the UK, Residential, Commercial, leisure as well as having involvement with projects in MENA – Large infrastructure developments as an example. Your role will evolve, granting autonomy, responsibilities, and professional growth that would lend itself well to someone that’s very commercially ambitious.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the first in, and develop the ESG service line including in developing and executing ESG strategies, goals, and metrics for clients.
Create and implement a comprehensive corporate sustainability and ESG strategy Internally
Identify and address key ESG/Sustainability issues relevant to our clients customer base
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to raise awareness and support our initiatives.
Develop sustainability programs to reduce environmental impact and enhance resource efficiency.
Contribute to ESG reporting and disclosure efforts.
Monitor industry trends and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability and ESG considerations into the design decisions.
Manage relationships with external stakeholders.Qualifications & Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of sustainability practices and up to date regulations.
Proven track record in implementing sustainable practices.
Strong presentation skills.
Proficiency in report and policy writing.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
Proficiency in data management systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
Progressive experience in environmental, science, engineering, or sustainability fields.
Knowledge of ISO management systems.
GRI or other ESG reporting agency certification is a plus.
