Position Purpose
The Sr Manager, Decarbonisation Supplier Engagement will lead the design and development of supplier engagement programs on decarbonisation for Brambles’ most material supplier types, including carriers, subcontracted service centres, and suppliers of capital goods across the globe. This is one of the four pillars of Brambles’ Decarbonisation strategy and will therefore play a critical role in the implementation of the global decarbonisation strategy to ensure Brambles achieves its Paris aligned emissions reductions targets and Regenerative Supply Chain ambitions. Reporting into the Sr Director Global Supply Chain Decarbonisation, this role will work closely with regional operations, logistics and procurement leadership to design and deploy programs that support Brambles and its suppliers on their journey to net zero emissions.

Year-on-year emissions reduction progress in line with Brambles’ decarbonisation targets
Successful development and roll-out of specific supplier decarbonisation programs globally
Cross-functional staff upskilled on supplier engagement on decarbonisation
Major/Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the design and development of high-impact supplier engagement programs on decarbonisation for Brambles’ most material supplier types, including transport services providers, subcontracted service centres, and suppliers of capital goods across the globe, accounting for >95% of Brambles’ global emissions.
Liaise with Supply Chain leadership across Operations, Logistics and Procurement to design and timely deploy supplier decarbonisation programs at global and regional level.
Leverage existing tools to support supplier decarbonisation, such as Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition (Supplier LOCT) and SME Climate Hub.
Responsible for developing and tracking KPIs and success criteria associated with each supplier decarbonisation program to ensure traceability of outcomes for both internal and external reporting processes.
Lead Brambles’ involvement in key industry coalitions and associations as it relates to participating in Scope 3 decarbonisation efforts with Brambles’ material suppliers, e.g., Smart Freight Centre’s Sustainable Freight Buyers Alliance, World Economic Forum Road Freight Zero, and others.
Work closely with Brambles’ commercial leadership teams to leverage opportunities to co-develop programs or individual supplier engagement efforts with Brambles’ customer base.
Lead the integration of decarbonisation considerations into procurement decision-making, including the procurement of transport services, subcontracted operations and capital goods. This includes adjustments to supplier selection criteria to account for carbon impacts, and scorecards to meaningfully track suppliers’ performance on decarbonisation.
Develops materials and tools to support suppliers in their transition to net zero emissions, as part of Brambles’ Supplier Academy content offering. Liaise with leaders from Legal Compliance, Sustainability, and Procurement teams to consolidate suppliers’ requirements on Ethics and Compliance, Waste management and Sustainable Timber in materials developed for distribution, as required and in line with Brambles’ Sustainable Procurement strategy.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Brambles’ Scope 3 data quality, in close collaboration with the Global Sustainability Team.
Support Brambles’ external climate reporting efforts through content development on the progress made regarding supplier decarbonisation programs.

Authority/ Decision Making
Lead the design, development and global roll-out of supplier decarbonisation programs.
Liaise directly with Operations, Logistics and Procurement leadership to deploy the programs at a regional level.
Lead the tracking and reporting of the KPIs and success criteria associated with each supplier decarbonisation program.
Experience
8+ years of experience in the climate change and sustainability
Prior experience in Supply Chain roles (Operations, Logistics, Procurement)
Proven experience in the design, development, deployment and performance tracking of supplier engagement programs
Experience in multicultural senior stakeholder management and influencing
Experience in implementing sustainable procurement practices, processes and tool
Proven track record of management of complex projects/programs with cross-functional and cross-regional teams
Previous participation in industry-led regional or global decarbonisation initiatives, such as World Economic Forum Road Freight Zero, Sustainable Freight Buyers Alliance, or others.
Experience interacting with external stakeholders (suppliers, customer and industry bodies)
Expertise in global carbon accounting in line with internationally recognised standards such as The GHG Protocol, GLEC Framework.
