About the business unit
The Energy unit delivers services to clients globally across several sectors including hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. Together we provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction and operations, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. Together with our clients, we’re helping to deliver the energy transition globally.
Overview of role
Key elements of the role will include:
international environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA)
environmental due diligence
environmental monitoring
international travel
environmental, social and governance reports
You’d be part of a truly multidisciplinary team; working alongside some of the best environmental specialists, social specialists and engineers in the industry.
Candidate Specification
Essential criteria
Fluent in English and French
Degree qualified in an environmental subject
Experience of due diligence and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment
Understanding and experience of applying environmental safeguards of international finance institutions such as the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Investment Bank as part of ESIA, due diligence and monitoring
Demonstrable knowledge of the environmental impacts of energy projects
Experience in reviewing complex documents, able to summarise and present the key issues in a clear and concise way
Ability to travel in Spain and internationally
Held previous roles demonstrating strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Able to work within a team and motivate others to deliver to high standards
Able to meet challenging budgets and timescales
Membership of a relevant professional institute
Desirable criteria
Fluency or work proficiency in Spanish (i.e.: ability to work at site, participate in meetings, review documents, write reports)
A high standard in an environmental specialism and a broader awareness of other environmental or social disciplines
Experience of assessing the environmental impacts of energy projects such as solar, hydro, wind, and thermal generation technologies
Relevant work experience in environmental management disciplines including the European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (EU CSRD) requirements (i.e.: sustainability-related disclosure requirements, double materiality analysis).
Experience in managing projects, work planning, resource allocation, financial/budget management.
Experience in business development and writing proposals (aptitude in identification, progression, delivery, and success in tendering for new project opportunities).
Experience in developing and managing client relationships and winning new work.
