We are looking for a Packaging Sustainability Expert for a leading international industrial group. You will be part of the Global Product Development Team, being primarily responsible for packaging sustainability by leading the transformation of the current packaging portfolio, engaging in projects going forward, while ensuring compliance of our future packaging and improving the environmental performance of our legacy packaging components (in particular regarding EPR).
You will understand end to end the packaging network (both internal and external), own the packaging documentation and technical systems and bring valuable and sustainable solutions to brands, markets and manufacturing sites. You will have to work with production sites and teams at EMEA level.
Some of your main tasks will be the following:
Ownership of the Packaging sustainability strategy, integrate it into the organization and communicate it externally.Manage and track the packaging portfolio transformation plan to comply with environmental regulations, proactively cooperating with other team members (e.g. packaging, procurement, operations, HSE, logistics, artwork, category management, marketing and portfolio management and development, regulatory affairs).The technical limits of packaging lines and the capabilities and limitations of packaging suppliers.Robust and reliable management of technical documentation associated with packaging components.Regular technical and regulatory studies, as well as monitoring of competition and evolution of packaging technologies in the field of sustainability.Documents, consult, review and provide guidance to support packaging team members.
What you will need to fit the position:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in packaging, engineering, materials or related technical discipline.Experience in packaging engineering and development, preferably in the cosmetic industry, with a minimum of 10 years of work experience, with knowledge of Operations and Supply Chain.Working with a broad spectrum of materials (particularly difficult to change plastic materials), manufacturing and functionality of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging.With environmental and ESG regulations related to packaging is paramount; experience with LCAs and industry associations will be a benefit.Leadership experience in a global environment, able to easily navigate between strategic work and driving operational implementation on the ground.Proficient in English.
