The team:

Hellenic Bank Public Company Limited, one of the leading Financial Institutions in Cyprus, is seeking to recruit an Officer, Environmental, Social and Governance within the Strategy & Transformation Unit.  The Officer will report to the Manager of Strategy & ESG, in Strategy & Transformation.

This role will have responsibility for the Bank’s overall strategic direction, development and delivery of its sustainability and ESG ambitions, innovations and commitments. The successful candidate will lead inspire colleagues across the Bank, and across the sector to  maximize the Bank’s Thought Leadership Leverage to affect wider impact and change. This role will have a high degree of impact on the overall direction of the Bank’s strategic direction enabling it to maximize its impact and deliver on its mission.

 

Main Responsibilities
Contribute on setting ESG strategies that align with the bank’s goals, values and industry best practices
Understand global ESG regulations and policy frameworks and contribute towards producing accurate and timely ESG reports
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote awareness and collaboration on ESG initiatives
Establish an excellent working relationship with colleagues to embed ESG considerations across the bank  in order to meet the evolving needs of clients, regulators, employees, shareholders and other key stakeholders
Assist in establishing KPIs and frameworks to assess and communicate the bank’s ESG performance and impact
Stay updated on ESG trends, standards and best practices, communicate and apply internally
Invest in personal development and build ESG expertise. Uncover emerging issues and/or needs and identify potential causes, related issues, key individuals and barriers
Attend and present at external events / conferences / seminars.

Candidate Profile

 

Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Financial Risk Management, Economics or a related discipline
ESG related qualifications and/or work experience will be considered an advantage
At least 5 years of relevant experience in Banking and/or Financial Services Advisory either in a Financial Institution or Consulting company
Proven track record of successfully driving and executing projects within the Financial Services sector
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify ESG risks and opportunities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels and among a broad spectrum of stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Self-starter; high level of enthusiasm, initiative, and experienced judgement to identify priorities, initiate projects, and complete activities in a timely fashion
Ability to influence stakeholders to determine acceptable solutions
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Powerpoint and MS Excel
Fluency in Greek and English, both verbal and written.
