Job Summary
This role is responsible for directing public relations activities, assisting in coordination of media events, preparing media releases, and supporting outreach to policymakers and industry players. The role collaborates with multiple internal teams to outline communication plans and to ensure their alignment with research and business objectives. The role maintains cross-functional cooperation for comprehensive communication plans.
Responsibilities
Works in close partnership with the public policy, communications, product and creative teams to ensure all work is grounded in research and business proof points.
Analyzes and coordinates messages and information from subject matter experts, senior leaders, and partner agencies.
Collaborates and work cross-functionally with the partners in communications, public policy, product, partnerships, and operations and team leadership to outline and develop communications plans for the team including timelines, content, scripts, talking points, and other materials.
Executes robust risk and policy sensing through government network.
Supports the coordination of integrated policy issue management communications programs to include public affairs, earned and social media, design and production for policy.
Partners closely across the organization’s global corporate affairs team and business units to manage federal/state/local public affairs strategies.
Supports international teams to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders with differing perspectives.
Assists in coordinating public relations activities such as media events to meet business needs, objectives, and policies of business concern.
Writes, edits, and prepares information for release to the media, specialized groups, general public, government officials, and other government organizations with guidance from experienced team members.
Supports outreach with policymakers, industry players, academia, and key opinion formers in thoughtful dialogue.
Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Journalism/Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, Liberal Arts, Science, Business Demonstration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in government affairs, educational programs, public policy/relations, philanthropy, project management, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
