What You Will Do
• Lead sustainability at BME and the EU: design and execute the sustainability strategy for Spain and the EU.
• Stay abreast of evolving sustainability regulations and standards, particularly in Spain and the European Union, identifying commercial opportunities as well as obligations and risks
• Represent BME towards internal and external stakeholders and work towards the goal of positioning BME as a key actor in sustainable finance in Europe.
• Ensure the implementation of the SIX group’s strategic measures and work closely together with the Group Sustainability team, the group’s sustainability delegates and the innovation team.
• Support the teams in context with sustainability-related corporate reporting.
What You Bring
• Proven experience as a Head Sustainability or in a senior sustainability role and experienced leader, with a track record of developing and implementing successful strategies and measures.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate sustainability goals into actionable plans and drive and measure results.
• Can-do-approach, effective project management skills and a fine balance of ambition and pragmatism.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Spanish and English, with the ability to lead through influence and effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization and to motivate people around common goals.
• Good understanding of sustainability regulations and general sustainability principles, trends, and best practices.
