We are looking for a Group ESG Manager
This person will take a leading role in shaping and implementing Galileo’s sustainability and ESG strategy across the group, becoming the go-to person on topics of sustainability, ESG and corporate social responsibility for Galileo and its stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
Implement, track, report and adapt Galileo’s ESG Strategy and related initiatives over time, covering a broad range of topics across the project lifecycle;
Coordinate efforts of the ESG SteerCo and those of colleagues with relevant E, S or G initiatives to be planned/managed, including regular reporting and engagement with the Sustainability Committee and preparing Galileo’s first Sustainability Report;
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors/Board members, project and corporate teams and relevant industry groups;
Establish key performance indicators and metrics to track our progress on ESG goals and targets. Conduct regular analysis and benchmarking to identify areas for improvement and innovation;
Identify and assess ESG-related risks and opportunities that may impact the company’s reputation, financial performance, and long-term sustainability. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans as needed.
Lead on the preparation of materials for the annual GRESB sustainability assessment, aiming to improve Galileo’s score and peer ranking over time;
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in ESG practices across the organization. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and impact.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Engineering, Law, Sustainability, Business, or Finance;
At least 8 years’ experience in an international corporate environment, of which at least 3 years dedicated to ESG topics, combined with a passion for driving value and change in this area;
A strong understanding of sustainability and ESG frameworks, legislation, policies and standards, as well as the ability to apply such considerations within a business environment;
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others;
Excellent verbal and written English; another European language is a plus;
Strong analytical skills, comfortable working with digital reporting tools and proficient in explaining, analysing, and acting on data and metrics to drive decision-making.
Location: Milan – Porta Garibaldi (possibility of hybrid remote working)
