Iberostar is committed to Leading Responsible Tourism through an action driven agenda in circular economy, climate action, blue foods, nature-based solutions and in destination stewardship. This seasoned, visionary and dynamic role will lead our efforts in enhancing data-driven decision-making and reporting processes within the Office of Sustainability. This role will be instrumental in designing and implementing robust data governance mechanisms, driving continuous improvement in sustainability performance, and ensuring compliance with relevant ESG reporting standards and regulations.

As the ESG Reporting & Metrics Director, reporting to the Global Sustainability Office Director, your main responsibilities will include:

Develop documentation and provide training for data entry processes to ensure accuracy and consistency in data collection.
In collaboration with the Iberostar Oficina de Dato, lead the development of a new version of the CSR tool and dashboard, leveraging advanced data analytics techniques to provide actionable insights into sustainability performance.
Develop procedures and provide training for data extraction, audit processes for data quality, and analysis of ESG performance against key goals.
Draft performance narratives in partnership with the finance and accounting teams to communicate ESG performance to internal and external stakeholders.
Design and implement enhanced governance mechanisms to ensure oversight and control over ESG reporting processes, partnering with key internal stakeholders including the ESG controllership.
Stay abreast of relevant regulations, standards, and disclosure requirements related to ESG reporting, including CSRD, ISSB, SASB, TCFD, CDP, SEC, and supply chain platforms.
Develop annual continuous improvement plans to enhance sustainability program performance, data integrity, reporting, and transparency.

Who is the ideal person for this job?

The ideal person for this role has exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Studies:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Valuable Master’s degree in Sustainability Metrics, Reporting, Data or similar.

Experience / Background:

Extensive experience with non-financial reporting and ESG standards and reporting frameworks.
Strong understanding of GHG data and protocols.
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and innovation in sustainability data and reporting processes.

Languages:

Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Tools:

Google Workspace G-Suite,
Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
