ESG & Regulatory Affairs Manager role description (Part time)

Velto Renewables (Velto), a subsidiary of CDPQ (Caisse de dépôt et placement de Québec), is looking for an ESG & Regulatory Affairs Manager to join its team in Madrid, Spain. Velto and its subsidiaries currently hold a portfolio of operating solar PV assets of c. 200+ MW located in Spain and manages CDPQ´s 25% investment in the operation offshore wind farm London Array (630 MW) located in the UK, likewise, it is developing a portfolio of 1GW solar PV projects in Iberia. It is anticipated that Velto grows its investment and management portfolio to other technologies and other geographies in the upcoming months.

The ESG & Regulatory Affairs Manager will lead, coordinate, and execute the ESG initiatives and reporting activities of the company as well as coordinate the regulatory support to the various areas of Velto. She or he will work alongside the various departments and workstreams of the company: Finance, Legal, Development, Construction, Operations, and Asset Management.

This position is part time with the possibility to become full time in the upcoming 6-18 months.

Responsabilities

Develop sustainability strategies including decarbonization, environmental, social and governance topics (ESG).
Coordinate external consultants and inputs from the different Velto’s departments to elaborate and monitor the Velto ESG strategy.
Design and implement operational models on ESG.
Select and manage the external consultants for the various ESG Velto workstreams.
Leand and execute with the support of external consultants and the Velto’s various departments the CSRD strategy, analysis, and recurrent reporting tools.
Implement with the support of external consultants and the various Velto’s departments the TCFD strategy, analysis, and reporting tools.
Support the ESG and local engagement activities of the various Velto activities: development, construction, and operations.
Support and coordinate the regulatory affairs activities of the company.

Solid knowledge of ESG principles and reporting methodologies, more specifically:

Sustainability reporting (CSRD)
TCFD framework
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
Energy efficiency
ESG value creation
ESG Tech & Data services
Sustainable supply chain
Circular economy
Sustainable finance

Knowledge of renewable energy regulation at Spanish and European level;
Must be autonomous and pro-active: develop own workstreams and work across many different functions;
Good level of comfort with data management: proficient at extracting and analysing large amounts of data and presenting information in an easy-to-understand way;
Ability to develop and implement report templates, analytical tools, and other financial tools and financial models;
Good team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
Interest and willingness to work on a start-up environment;
High level of proficiency with MS Office suite of products;
Excellent command of written and spoken English and Spanish;
Valid driver’s licence.

Education and experience

Bachelor’s and-or Master´s degree in relevant discipline;
Specific training in ESG/CSRD;
Two years of experience in the relevant field ccording to the above described competencies;
Experience working in renewable energy projects and companies.
