What You’ll Be Doing
Nathan, a Cadmus Company is actively seeking an Environmental Social Governance—International Expert (short-term technical assistance consultant) on its USAID-funded Moldova Institutional and Structural Reform Activity (MISRA).
MISRA’s objective is to stimulate a sustainable and inclusive recovery from the regional crisis, improve the institutional, business, and trade enabling environment in Moldova by supporting Moldova’s public institutions and the private sector to accelerate the implementation of trade liberalization mechanisms, adopt structural and investment climate reforms, accelerate financial sector reforms, improve economic governance in the public sector, and enhance strategic communications between the private and public actors. MISRA builds on prior and ongoing USAID and US Government activities in the business enabling environment and trade facilitation space to strengthen Moldova’s economic growth and resilience, and by doing so, increase transparency and accountability.

Responsibilities:
The Consultant will be responsible for carrying-out the following tasks: TASK 1 – Assess the current state of ESG indicators and standards a in Moldova, in coordination with MoEDD. TASK 2 – Prepare a report and make a presentation to MISRA and MoEDD on the assessment findings and recommendations on implementing appropriate government ESG indicators and standards in Moldova and respond to questions and comments received.
Qualifications:
University degree in economics, finance, business, social science, or related field. Three years’ work experience in data management/analysis, finance, accounting, sustainable development, project management, environmental programs, or related experience. Demonstrated in-depth understanding of government ESG regulations and reporting frameworks, preferably in Europe. Holder of ESG-related certification (e.g., CESGA, CIIA, CEFA, etc.). Experience in ESG assessments, preferably in a consultancy or regulatory role. Demonstrated ability to interact with government authorities and institutions preferred. Experience working with USAID and/or other international donors preferred.
