An independently owned New York-based real estate investment management firm is seeking a highly motivated Portfolio Management Analyst to support its growing multifamily investment portfolios. The firm was established in 1969 and currently has $9.3 billion of institutional quality real estate assets under management. The Analyst will be working on a range of multifamily investment strategies and will be engaged in all aspects of the real estate investment process, including analyzing and executing new investment opportunities; formulating new investment strategies and marketing materials; ongoing financial modeling and liquidity management; and investor reporting.

What You Will Be Doing

Assist in developing and implementing practical and cost-effective environmentally sustainable initiatives. Monitor and analyze both common area energy usage and whole building consumption for anomalies and fluctuations.
Monitor and analyze Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) to ensure accurate data.
Oversee the IREM Certified Sustainable Property designation program.
Interact with our third-party utility billing company to facilitate smooth operations.
Assist the transaction officers with ESG due diligence on new acquisitions.
Monitor ESG-related capital projects, for example, installation of solar panels and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
Research capital needs to effectuate reduction of energy usage through improved technology or systems upgrades.
Oversee ESG-related contracts, for example, waste consumption and green energy contracts.
Support the team responsible for companywide quarterly and annual sustainability reporting.
Become a contributing member of the ESG Committee and Sentinel Living Green Quarterly Newsletter Committee.
Interact with Sentinel Asset Management to ensure properties are following Sentinel ESG strategy policies.
Develop, implement and track, for reporting purposes, property level sustainable resident events.
Develop ESG related agenda items for property staff meetings.
Implement and oversee national vendor program that supplies sustainable move-in and renewal resident gifts.
Further develop and oversee the Sentinel We Connect program whereby each property adopts a local service provider to support and sponsor.

 

What You Need for this Position

Asset management experience with a focus on sustainability, preferably working for an institutional owner or real estate advisor
Strong financial and analytical skills
Yardi, Excel, Word
Effective written and oral communication skills
Professional designation(s) a plus
LEED, BREEAM, or FitWel, certification
Valid drivers license
Willingness and ability to travel to other office locations/field sites as needed
Bachelors degree, MBA preferred
