Job Description
Alpha Bank is currently seeking an experienced professional to join the Climate, ESG and Enterprise Risk Management Business Area. The Climate and ESG Risk Management Manager will be responsible to deliver effective oversight and integration of ESG aspects to the vertical risk functions of the Bank (i.e. credit, market, liquidity, operational risk / business / strategic risk), as well as to the other lines of defense at the Bank and Group levels, ensuring the organization’s comprehensive management of ESG-related risks.
The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment delivering high-quality results in a timely manner. The jobholder should possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with strong communication skills.
What you will be doing
Cultivate a high-performance inspired team while fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and inclusion.
Encourage and support the development of team members by providing ongoing training and resources to keep them updated on the latest developments in C&ESG risks.
Implement and operationalize the C&ESG regulations and best practices within the Group Risk Management Framework, ensuring that these principles are effectively integrated into the organization’s risk management operations.
Coordinate the design and assessment of C&ESG indices and targets within the RAF, ensuring alignment with the organization’s C&ESG strategic risk management objectives, and actively provide guidance on the review of the Bank’s Risk Registry.
Provide input to the Director to opine the ESG risk elements into the Bank and Group’s strategy and Recovery plan, while highlighting high-risk ESG areas in alignment with the Group’s commitments.
Lead the development and execution of climate scenario analysis and provide sign-off. Leads the C&ESG risk contribution to climate stress testing exercises.
Supervise complex projects and IT implementations related to the development of C&ESG risk methodologies.
Coordinate climate related regulatory exercises and other regulatory requests.
Oversee the design and analysis of C&ESG risks within the Bank and Group RMF, while also monitoring industry peers to identify improvement areas in C&ESG risk management.
What you need to have
A Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Environmental studies or in any other related discipline.
A Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline would be considered an asset.
At least seven (7) years of banking experience out of which at least five (5) years in a supervising position, mainly in the Risk Management Domain or other control related functions.
Knowledge of current ESG regulations.
Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize and handle multiple assignments.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Excellent command of the English language (both written and spoken)
