As the Sustainability Manager at Aramark Ireland, you will play a pivotal role in driving our sustainability initiatives forward. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance our environmental performance, promote social responsibility, and drive sustainable practices throughout our operations.
The successful candidate will manage the implementation and scaling of Aramark’s climate strategy and the environmental elements of our ‘Be Well. Do Well’. plan.
Role Responsibilities
Develop and Implement Aramark’s Sustainability Strategy: Manage and lead environmental sustainability across Aramark Ireland and manage strategies, policies and programs to advance environmental sustainability across our operations. In coordination with International, design tangible and measurable goals, KPIs and metrics, to underpin the eight pillars laid out in the ‘Be Well. Do Well.’ strategy with a focus on the environmental (Planet) pillars.
Continuous Improvement:Proactively evaluate and refine current sustainability initiatives and practices to drive ongoing improvement and innovation in sustainability performance. Manage and articulate expectations and timelines to all relevant parties.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Collect, analyse, and report on sustainability metrics and performance indicators to track progress, identify areas for improvement. This includes (but not limited to) CSRD reporting as well as our Be Well. Do Well and Net Zero impact reports.
Regulatory Compliance:Stay abreast of relevant environmental regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry best practices and lead on how this can affect business operations.
Serves as liaison to subject matter experts (SMEs) across the business on climate, packaging, plastics, responsible sourcing, and food waste.
Work in partnership with key functional owners including Supply Chain and Procurement, Hospitality Enablement, Culinary Development and other functions to ensure coordination in implementing key commitments.
Sales Support:Support the bid team in RFPs/PPQs and other tender requirements, as well as relevant client leads in quarterly business review content development and annual refresh of proposal content. The successful candidate will also present on sustainability at new client pitches.
Site and Client Support: Provide key client and operations leads with specific oversight and support on sustainability materials, initiatives and best practice.
Communication & Marketing Support:Work in partnership with Marketing and Communications, and other functions to improve the company’s brand and reputation by publicising our sustainability efforts and raising awareness amongst key stakeholders.
Requirements
Experience advancing sustainability goals in food, hospitality or related sectors.
A passional for sustainability and driving positive change.
Expertise in one or more of the following is desirable: sustainable sourcing, plant-forward menus, carbon footprint reduction, food waste, and/or single use plastic reduction.
Technical knowledge and experience in sustainability reporting
Proven ability to read, analyse, interpret and translate large sets of data into simple insights or reports.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent project management and strong organisational skills and a proven ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities.
Ability to work independently and in a diverse team.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sustainability/climate change or related topic preferred.
