Who will you be joining?
As Allianz Group, we are taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. Our ambitious for our own operations is to reduce GHG emissions arising from Allianz sites and activities in over 70 markets by year-end 2029 by -65%.
Allianz has established a dedicated unit – Group Sustainable Operations – to align the strategic approach across all Allianz entities, with the aim to reduce their environmental footprint and accelerate impact. The team works closely with relevant stakeholders, departments and Allianz entities worldwide to ensure the achievement of Allianz environmental targets for own operations and the implementation of the Allianz Own Operations Sustainability Strategy.
The Sustainability Manager will support the internal steering for Allianz Own Operations as well as the implementation of the strategy, the corresponding roadmaps and relevant corporate measures.
How can you make an impact?
You will:
- Design and ensure the implementation of environmental initiatives and programs line with the Allianz Own Operations Sustainability Strategy
- Conduct the internal steering for Allianz Own Operations including environmental target definition for Allianz Group and Allianz operating entities
- Analyze and interpret Allianz Group’s environmental performance data to measure progress towards its targets, understand sustainability KPIs and their impact with a focus on climate, energy and environment
- Develop dashboards with Allianz Group sustainability KPIs, prepare and present performance and target achievement to the Management and Sustainability Board
- Evaluate and advise on relevant environmental regulations within Allianz Own Operations
- Actively support Allianz entities in identifying value and impact of initiatives, identify areas for improvement, specify requirements and implement recommendations to improve impact on Allianz Group Environmental Targets
- Conduct research and benchmarking of peers and translate best practices into key insights
- Develop and implement employee awareness and engagement opportunities to embed sustainability internally and making it relevant to the entire employee base
What are you made of?
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required; German or another language is a plus
- Strong data management and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to drive several projects at once
- Strong ability to think and act independently and to quickly adapt to new problem settings and situations
- Proactive, flexible, and energetic team player with a strong personal interest in sustainability issues such as climate change and environmental protection
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerBI)
- Advanced Experience in data analytics (e.g. PowerBI) is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- University Bachelor or Master’s Degree in the field of environmental management, environmental engineering or sustainability or similar
- Deep understanding of environmental reporting and implications of regulatory requirements connected to the relevant metrics
- Profound knowledge of sustainability standards and regulations (e.g. CSRD, SDGs, SBTi, GHG Protocol, ISO 14001/ISO 50001, …)
- Ability to work in virtual and international team set-ups and capable to build collaborative working relationships
- Excellent project management skills, with proven track record in managing global complex projects with senior stakeholders
- Hands-on working mentality, with analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as moderation and presentation skills
- Strong business case building experience
- Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
- Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
