Early-Career Track in Climate Science & Policy Helping nations turn science into sustainable action. Gauss is launching a dedicated Excellence Programme for highly motivated graduates and early-career professionals who want to build deep expertise in climate science, modelling, and international policy.
We’re not offering just another job — we’re offering a five-year journey toward becoming a top-tier technical expert, with intensive learning, hands-on experience, and close mentorship.
You will work at the intersection of science and policy, supporting countries in applying data and models to real sustainability challenges.
What we offer A five-year track to professional and technical excellence:
Year 1 – Immersive learning & project support Focus: Core training in international climate reporting (Paris Agreement instruments), public-policy analysis, and modelling (energy, climate, GHG).
What You’ll Do: Combine self-paced study, expert mentoring and hands-on contributions to real projects—ensuring everything you learn is applied directly into practice.
Years 2–4 – Applied Research & International Engagement Focus: Deepen technical expertise while working side-by-side with governments contributing on developing scenarios, drafting national reports, meeting international reporting obligations, and refining policy options.
What You’ll Do: Collaborate on real-world projects in Latin America, Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and Europe; publish analyses, present findings at country workshops, and help refine tools and models with senior scientists.
Year 5 – Building Advanced Expertise Focus: Take the lead on high-impact projects, manage multidisciplinary teams, and develop regional strategies with growing independence and responsibility.
