Thematic trends: forced labour, responsible batteries, procurement

On day 2, a series of panels will dive deeper into key thematic trends impacting the European landscape. The proposed EU Batteries Regulation is a key policy development impacting the batteries value chain by introducing mandatory customized due diligence rules that will expectedly enter into force before the EU cross-sectoral mandatory due diligence framework, featuring a built-in recognition of supply chain due diligence schemes. Increasingly, responsible business considerations are integrated into trade policy which materializes in particular through the issue of forced labour – examples including reference to forced labour in key recent EU policy developments. At the same time, responsible IT procurement continues to gain ground in European public buyers’ policy and practice. Learn more about these unfolding trends by hearing from key experts and practitioners.
